The NH Barbizon Palace is located in the oldest and most unique part of Amsterdam and is partly built behind restored facades of 19 historic buildings, most of which date from the 17th century, the Dutch Golden Age. In the centre of Amsterdam, in front of the central railway station, the hotel is conveniently located close to the shopping, business and leisure areas. The hotel is suitable for business as well as leisure guests. The quality and service make this hotel a unique place to stay. All rooms in the hotel were totally renovated in 1999/2000. There are two restaurants in the hotel: the informal Hudson's Terrace & Restaurant and the luxureous Restaurant Vermeer.

The hotel has 274 luxury rooms including Executive rooms and Suites as well as the Executive Residence Apartments. Many of the rooms are located in the restored 17th and 18th century part of the hotel, with its original oak beams and rafters.
