Quinta Nª Srª de Loudes

Rua da Igreja,132, 9545-532

    -

- Of centenary construction, the name of the farm comes from the existence of a niche in the main façade of the house, with Senhora de Lourdes, protector of the seamen. - Since its beginning, the farm has claimed itself as one of the biggest wine-growing houses of the area. With a large extent of land, the farm was totally occupied by vines that abundantly produced the grapes used in the making of a famous wine. - Today, besides the vines, there are a greater variety of cultures, fruit trees and some domestic animals. - Built in 1888, the farm has kept till our days the typical architecture of a St. Michael`s rural house, as one can notice, among other facilities, in the traditional kitchen. The farm has three double rooms with direct access to the garden and to the terrace. The house has also a spacious and comfortable living room with games, bar and TV. - In the dining room, courses of the typical regional gastronomy can be served, if ordered. The guest have the opportunity to participate in the rural works of the farm and in the wine fabrication that still takes place in the typical wine cellar which keeps all utensils used in the vintage and wine production. The guests may also have the use of a bodybuilding room and enjoy walks, bicycle and horse rides, or boat trips along the coast and also fishing and hunting excursions that can be organized by the owners. - In a 600 meter range there is a small fishing harbour and a seaside resort where one of the most ancient whale factories of the Azores is located and at approximately 4 kilometers stands Batalha Golf Club.
