Brussels is a city teeming with culture. It has museums of every kind, and in addition to a wide range of art, history and science museums, there are ones about brewing beer and lace making as well. In some ways, the cultural life of the city is split along linguistic lines, since theatres and cinemas tend to be exclusively French or Flemish. This isn’t true with music or dance of course, and the prestigious concert venue Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie presents top-notch performances of musicians from all over the world. Since Brussels is both a national and European capital, it is a popular location to stage cultural events, and many important festivals take place here, as well as exhibitions and conferences. One such festival is the Kunstenfestivaldesarts, which includes many art forms but is particularly known for theatre.
